Pear Australia Australia's Most Caring Telco
Accounting · bookkeeping · finance brokers

Phone systems for accounting firms and finance brokers.

July and October the phone does not stop. Hosted-X queues the overflow, puts partners on the mobile, and lets Aria take the “where is my BAS” calls on your script — so a client does not ring the firm down the road.

Tax season and the rest of the year

Sized for July.
Priced for November.

Month-to-month means you carry the queue when you need it and not a 36-month contract sized for lodgement week.

Overflow queue

A short “we're with a client — we'll be right with you” message, then the next free person. Not eight minutes of hold music in lodgement week.

Partners on the mobile app

The firm's number on a partner's or senior's phone when they are out at a job. Same number, same greeting, no personal mobile published.

Time-of-day routing

The lodgement rush, the quiet months and after hours each get their own ring plan. Set once in the portal, change it when the calendar does.

Hunt group per team

Tax, SMSF and broking each ring their own people in order — not one blast to every handset in the building.

Missed-call SMS they can reply to

“Sorry we missed you — reply here or we'll call back.” A client chasing a refund isn't left on dead air.

Multi-office

One platform, a number per office. Each keeps its own greeting and after-hours rule; calls overflow between offices when one is swamped.

Aria · On your script

The calls reception
should not retype.

Aria is Pear's AI receptionist, on Australian servers. She works from the script the firm approves: new-client details, “I sent the documents”, an appointment for a review, and after hours the opening times and the “email it to…” address — taken down and sent to reception, not retyped between calls.

Recording and privacy

A record of what was said.
Kept in Australia.

Recording where the firm wants it

Office-line recording is a firm policy, not a Pear default. Where you switch it on, a spoken notice plays before the call connects, in the firm's own consent wording.

On Australian servers

Recordings, voicemail and faxes are hosted in Australia on infrastructure Pear operates. Pear is CyberCert SMB1001 Gold certified, and the support staff who can see your call logs are in Baulkham Hills.

Your obligations stay yours; we keep the call data here.

Straight answer

We do the phone.
The file stays in your practice software.

Your practice or broking software keeps the client file, the workflow and the lodgements. Pear does not replace it.

If that software can email or SMS, it can work with Pear. We do not claim a named hook-up we do not have.

Still faxing a pack?

Some lenders and government agencies still send and receive by fax. X-Fax puts them in the firm's inbox as searchable PDFs, on Australian servers — no machine.

Why Pear

No lock-in. No day
of dead phones.

Questions firms ask.

What happens when every line is on a client in July?
The caller goes into a short queue with a “we're with a client — we'll be right with you” message, and the call rings the next free person in that team, including partners on the mobile app. If nobody frees up in time, Aria takes a structured message and the caller gets an SMS saying the firm will call back. Nobody rings out to the firm down the road.
Can Aria take a new-client call after hours?
Yes, on the script the firm approves. Aria takes the caller's name, number, what they need and a preferred time, gives the opening hours and the “email it to…” address if you put it on the script, and sends the message to reception for the morning. She does not give tax advice and does not quote a fee. A person calls back to book the work.
Are calls recorded?
Only where the firm switches it on, and only on the lines you choose. Where you record, a spoken notice plays before the call connects, using the firm's own consent wording. Recordings are kept in Australia on infrastructure Pear operates.
Two offices / a broker and an accounting team on one account?
Yes. One platform with a number per office or per team — tax, SMSF, broking — each with its own greeting, hunt group and after-hours rule. Calls can overflow between teams or offices when one is flat out. One bill, one Australian support team.
Does this replace Xero / XPM / BrokerEngine?
No. Your practice or broking software keeps the client file, the workflow and the lodgements. Pear does the phone. If that software can email or SMS, it can work with Pear — we do not claim a named hook-up we do not have.
New handsets?
Not necessarily. Compatible existing handsets can be reused, and a softphone on a mobile suits partners and brokers who are out at jobs. New Yealink handsets start from $285 to buy, or can be rented. We confirm what you have on the onboarding call.
