Pear Australia Australia's Most Caring Telco
Aria AI Voicemail · available today · from 55c a call

Most clinics switched voicemail off years ago. For a good reason.

A voicemail nobody plays until Tuesday is worse than no voicemail at all, and every practice manager knows it. So the after-hours message says "call back during business hours", and the patient who rang at 6pm with something that mattered rings 000, or a locum service, or nobody.

The thing to see first

The problem was never that patients left messages. It's that messages were recordings.

A recording has to be listened to, written down, understood, and passed on, by someone with twelve other things to do. A structured message — who, what number, what about, how urgent, written down already — is a task in a list. One of those gets actioned. The other gets the Tuesday treatment.

What's in the after-hours calls

One practice, one week.

Every call to the pharmacy line after 5pm went unanswered — the queue kept ringing with no closed message, callers held and hung up, and it all showed up as "missed calls" when it was really a closing-time setting nobody had changed. On the main line, 271 callers in a week gave up in the menu without ever reaching a person. None of them left anything, because there was nothing to leave it with.

A new way

A message that reads like your receptionist took it.

When nobody can answer — after hours, at lunch, when the queue's full — Aria does. She asks what a receptionist would ask, confirms the details, and leaves a structured message in your team's hands: name, number, what they need, how urgent, and a note if something sounded wrong. Your team opens a list in the morning, not a mailbox.

Questions practice managers ask.

What does Aria AI Voicemail cost?
From 55c a call pay-as-you-go — you only pay when she answers — or a monthly plan: $99 for up to 250 answered calls, $149 for 500, $199 for 750, $249 for 1,000, $299 for 1,250. Calls over your plan are billed at the next plan's rate, from 55c down to 25c, and every call is still answered. One $99 once-off setup. No lock-in.
Does she put calls through to a person?
No. Aria AI Voicemail takes messages and answers simple questions; she does not transfer calls. If callers need to reach your team live, that's Aria Queue Manager, and the two work together.
What happens in an emergency?
Every call opens with "Is this call an emergency?" If it is, or the caller sounds distressed, Aria directs them to 000. She's a triage aid, not a clinician.
What does the message look like?
A structured note in your team's hands: name, number, what they need, how urgent, and a flag if something sounded wrong — not an audio file. Your team opens a list in the morning, not a mailbox.
Where is the call processed?
All Aria processing stays in Australian data centres — AWS Sydney for Aria's voice, Microsoft Azure Australia for the rest. Nothing leaves the country.
